DevelopmentEdit

The Confederation Class Project was spearheaded at Mars Shipyards in 4120 AD. The ship was the first Naval-based design in almost 20 years, the last one being the Yamato Class.

The Confederation, the first ship of the Confederation Class, was built from 4120-4123 AD; she was armed with several prototype weapons at the time: 4 Slipper Cannons, a small version of The Hornet's Nest missile launcher, and 2 powerful, long range beam cannons, as well as a standard dual-barrel Lancer Cannon and two Iron Fist Siege Guns.

In 4154 AD, all ships of the class were upgraded. These Confederation Mk. II's had their Iron Fist weapons replaced with new Longbow Assault Cannons, and their side cargo-holds were retrofitted to house powerful new Corsair Torpedoes.

The most recent Confederation Class Cruiser built, the Carolina, was equipped with a prototype Visper-Intake system for improved FTL travel.
